An Iraqi journalist threw his shoes; one, and then the other, at President George W. Bush during his surprise farewell visit to that country earlier today. Astonishingly, Dubya was quick with the dodge and narrowly missed the flinging connection to his head on both occassions. The poor man will likely spend many nights in Abu Graib terrorist prison after this act of political messaging. I’m thinking this was a missive intended to enlighten the current US administration about how unenthused the Iraqi people feel about the American occupation of their homeland. I hope the journalist survives interrogation and lives to tell his own story about the logic behind his actions. I, for one, will enjoy a change in worldview about who we are as a people, when the bushies are gone.
